Toss in the fact that the doctor ordered tests that require fasting without informing us that we should fast ahead of time, and really just have zero faith or trust in this doctor. Would strongly recommend others find another care provider in the area.
My high rating is for Dr Cafferty himself and his level of care. I stay at this office because he has made the great an impression on me. I am retired military and can truly speak to going through military medicine on an assembly line where the doctor spends little if any time with you to trouble shoot an issue and simply gives you a handful of Motrin to get you out of sickbay. Those that accuse Dr Cafferty of that type of approach are simply not familiar with how bad medicine can really be and are accusing him of it unfairly. Dr Cafferty is a great doctor, knowledgable and highly concerned for his patients. He spends the time required to make you feel like you were actually seen and treated properly and that he has a vested personal care for your health and well-being. He has taken the time to not only diagnose my ailments, but has uncovered other issues that I had simply given up on after being dismissed by military doctors over the years. He takes his time to ask questions, to try different apporaches, to involve consultations with other doctors to attempt to get answers and treatments for his patients. His approach was refreshing to me and has earned my staying with him for the long haul. However, be prepared to spend hours there for your appointment as his days are full and his approach can cause some appointments to run long as he gives that attention to the patients. Wait times are usually 1+ hours on top of your time in the room with the doctor. I take that as a necessary evil because if I truly want that type of quality attention, I have to be prepared to wait as he gives it to the other patients he has. The largest frustration I have is appointments and referrals. Go in to make appointments as leaving a message to schedule one will not usually net a reply (I called numerous times for over a week, both my wife and I literally ran out of our prescriptions and finally was able to get out of work early to get there during the work day to physically get an appointment (which took the staff literally 2 minutes to setup). I have had several attempts to get referrals submitted to TRICARE to get consults, but they are never submitted. I do not fault the Dr for this, I challenge the staff with ensuring his requests are followed through as I have watched him hand the papers over to the staff in my presence only to not have it submitted. Be proactive, be persistent, and be prepared to wait. Despite those issues, I would go to Dr Cafferty any day of the week.
Why this doctor is accepting new patients is beyond me. Three visits, all of them with well over an hour waiting (30-40 minutes in the front room and a similar time in the exam room after the fact). The most recent time, the waiting room was filled to the brim with patients, to the point that there wasn't even any seating available for people to wait.
